[Water Well Drilling Weatherford](https://waterwelldrillingweatherford.com/) built this water well drilling cost calculator so you can price a job before calling anyone.

## How it works

- **Depth:** medians from Texas Water Development Board driller reports near each town, 2021–2026.
- **Drilling:** $30–$45 per foot for drilling, casing and seal.
- **Pump:** scaled by setting depth from HomeGuide's 2026 figures.
- **Hookup:** banded within HomeGuide's $2,000–$8,000 range for trenching and connection.
- **Fees:** Upper Trinity district registration where it applies.

## Calculator questions

**How accurate is the well cost calculator?**

It gives a **planning range**, not a quote. Depths come from state driller reports for new wells near each town since 2021, and prices from published 2026 cost data. The real number depends on the rock under your lot, how far the house is from the well, and what we find on site.

**Why does my town change the price so much?**

Because depth drives cost. The median new well near Aledo is 320 ft and near Granbury 360 ft, while Peaster and Poolville wells cluster at 215–220 ft. More footage means more drilling and casing, and usually a deeper pump.

**Does the estimate include district fees?**

For wells in the Upper Trinity district (Parker, Hood, Wise and Montague counties), yes: $600 registration plus a $100 refundable deposit. The Mineral Wells option leaves them out, because most wells there are on the Palo Pinto County side, outside that district.
