How accurate is the well cost calculator?
Why does my town change the price so much?
Because depth drives cost. The median new well near Aledo is 320 ft and near Granbury 360 ft, while Peaster and Poolville wells cluster at 215–220 ft. More footage means more drilling and casing, and usually a deeper pump.
Does the estimate include district fees?
For wells in the Upper Trinity district (Parker, Hood, Wise and Montague counties), yes: $600 registration plus a $100 refundable deposit. The Mineral Wells option leaves them out, because most wells there are on the Palo Pinto County side, outside that district.
